Last Friday we loaded up our car and took a road trip to Historic Nauvoo! We left the house at 4:30 am and drove straight to Carthage Illinois where we met up with some good friends from Minnesota! It was so fun to see each other again, especially since we both had babies this year. We got to see most of Nauvoo and we even got to take a horse carriage ride and a wagon ride that was pulled by oxen. We couldn't believe how large the oxen were, and how bumpy of a ride that must have been for the pioneers. Ryan got to make some rope, and I learned how to weave. It was a great time of year to visit Nauvoo because it was really slow and the weather was perfect. We also got to camp out for a night!!!! It was so nice to finally be able to use our tent again and I think Cambridge loves camping cause he gets to sleep with mom and dad! Cambridge did really well during the trip--what a sweet little boy! Pictured above is us with some of the Gunyan crew, Cambridge in the tent and dressed up like a little pioneer, us with the oxen, and the horses, and the Beautiful new temple! It was such a fun trip and I am so happy that we got to go and learn more about our heritage and the trials of some of the early saints!

The one of him dressed as a pioneer is just too adorable!
Man, who's the good looking family you were with? :) I am so glad someone got something out of Nauvoo besides screaming kids! (i.e. learning about the pioneers)....
Looks like a fun trip. He looks so cute in his pioneer hat.
